OBITUARY (4 Oct 1955 Nashua Telegraph, Nashua, NH):
Arthur Lamkin Barrett of 14 Brookline, Nashua died at a local hospital this morning. He was born in Lisbon, Nov 21 1893, son of G. Leston Barrett and Emma D. (Lamkin).
Mr. Barrett had been an employee of the Boston and Maine railroad for over 43 years, for the past 27 he had been storekeeper for the Boston and Maine at the Koppers plant in Nashua.
He was a member of the First Congregational church of Nashua and had been an attendant during the years of his residence here.
He was a veteran of World War I and served overseas with Company D, 14th Railway Engineers.
Fraternally, he was a past grand master of NH Grand Lodge, IOOF in 1932 and 1933; member of White Mountain lodge No.5 IOOF Concord; Encampment Branch of Concord; Canton, No.9, Patriarchs Militant of Nashua, and Fidelity Lodge of Rebekahs in Concord. Mr. Barrett was also a past president of the Past Grand Representatives Association of the International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF).
Members of his family include his wife, Mrs. Isabelle (Smith) Barrett; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie E. Moore of Corinna, ME; Mrs. Janice H. Evans of Atlanta, GA; one son YN 3 Arthur L. Barrett jr, USN, Norfolk, VA; five grand-children, Judith S. Moore, Richard B. Moore, Susan Moore, Walter F. Evans II, and Craig C. Evans; two sisters, Mrs. Nelle M. Braun of Nashua, Mrs. Fred P. Browne, Belmont NH; a brother, Howard L. Barrett of Claremont NH; two nieces, one nephew and several cousins.
