He was active in the Rural Letter Carriers Association. He retired in 1987. An avid outdoorsman, Morelle enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, and gardening and he shared his love of these activities with his children and grandchildren. A quiet man of principles, Morelle believed in a good education and proudly saw all five of his children graduate from Louisiana Tech. He loved music and, during his retirement years, enjoyed many a show in Branson, MO.
