Funeral services were held at the Waveland Methodist Church on Thursday afternoon last in charge of Rev J.P. Alford of the Russellville Federated Church assisted by Rev J.O. Carder. Mrs. Elby Emmert and Mrs. T.S. Banta sang Sweet Bye & Bye, Nearer My God to Thee and The Old Rugged Cross. The casket was carried by S.F. Evans; Cleve Grimes; El Rayl; Cyril and Cleaton Johnson and Romolus Boyd. Burial in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Emma Flora Barr, the daughter of Isaac and Mary Elizabeth Sharp was born in Russellville, Indiana, Sept 12, 1857. The third of a family of 13 children, she is survived by three brothers, Alva Sharp of Montezuma; Frank Sharp of Waveland and Otho Sharp of Crawfordsville. She moved to Waveland at age three and lived at that place the rest of her life except the last 10 which was spent with her daughter, Mary, near Russellville. She was united in marriage to James W. Barr August 20, 1885 who preceded her in death July 28, 1929. To this union were born two children: Harry L. Barr of Natchetoches, Louisiana and Mary C. the wife of D.A. McGaughey of Russellville. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Mildred McGaughey Evans wife of Dale Evans of Russellville and Mary ELizabeth Barr, daughter of Harry and Maude Clark Barr. Aunt Em as she was known to her many friends and relatives united with the Methodist church at 16 and continued the remainder of her life in the service of the Lord and in the work of her church. In the later years of her life she read and studied the Bible almost every day and found great consolation in the words of the Holy Writ. A true servant of our Lord and master she passed peacefully to the greater life at 9 August 29, 1939 after several year of ill health and followed by three months of severe illness.
