Mrs. Wiggins, the daughter of the late Chester and Ethel Holcomb Capell of Porterdale, was born in Arabi May 5, 1923. She was preceded in death by husbands Robert Eugene Barrett, Sr. and later Sultan Wiggins; her son, Robert Eugene Barrett, Jr., sisters, Lucy Savage and Lillian Willis.
She will live in the hearts of her daughter, Peggy (Ed) Vesely, Bonaire; sons, Keith (Lynda) Barrett, Kathleen; stepdaughter, Faith Wilson, Covington; daughter-in-law, Mary Barrett, Warner Robins; brother, Clarence (Christine) Capell, Covington; sister, Carolyn Gates, Macon; grandchildren, Frank (Joy) Riley, Warner Robins, Colleene Winchester, Candor, New York, Ricky (Lisa) Barrett, Abilene, Texas, Kevin (Norma) Barrett, Garland, Texas, Robert (Tiffany) Beckmann, Centerville, Starla (Joey) Lynch, Kathleen, Kyle (Bethany) Barrett, Warner Robins, Joseph (Gayle) Barrett, Coconut Creek, Florida, Minnie (Mark) Webling, Warner Robins; eighteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends across Georgia and the world, especially her brothers and sisters at the World of Faith Church in Macon.
She always had a loving and warm personality which she balanced with a firm and gentle honesty. With the support of her first husband, Gene, she completed her GED and went on to graduate from Crandall Business College. She was a dedicated member of her faith for over fifty years. For seven years, she served as a volunteer Monitor (Teacher) at the Christian Academy at the World of Faith in Macon. Ruth always strove to understand and improve her loving relationship with all children. She will be remembered for her great vegetable soup and her love of her fragile cat, "Baby". She will also be remembered as the all-time family Scrabble champion.
