Anna May (Barnhart) Atkins, age 92, of Dillsburg, PA, passed away on November 14, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late Robert H. Atkins who passed away in 1996.

Anna was born on April 21, 1931, in York, PA. She was the daughter of the late Harry M. Barnhart & Mary Elizabeth (Hoffmaster) Barnhart Cooper.

Anna graduated from Red Lion High School. She worked at Edgewood Arsenal and Aberdeen Proving Ground during the 1950s and retired in 1995 from the Commonwealth of PA, DPW, CCAO in Carlisle, PA.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to everyone she met. She was known for her outgoing and loving nature, always willing to help others. In her free time, Anna enjoyed cooking, bowling, and dancing. She had a zest for life and cherished spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son Robert H. Atkins of Lewisberry; son John C. Atkins and wife Kathy of Mechanicsburg; and her daughter AnnMarie Taylor and husband Darryl of Manchester. She is also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and step sister. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Atkins, her son Gary B. Atkins, and her brother Paul L. Barnhart.

Funeral services will be held at Connection Christian Church, 2901 Pleasant Valley Road, York, PA, on Friday, November 24, 2023. Visitation with family will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a service officiated by Pastor Dennis Ray.

Burial will be held privately for the family following the service.
