Cecelia Madalyn "Maddy" Barnhart, 87, formerly of Derry, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, in Brighton Gardens, West Palm Beach, Fla.

She was born Oct. 16, 1914, in Derry, a daughter of the late Charles and Flora Murray Thomas.

Madalyn was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, Derry, and was a Past Worthy Matron of the Derry O.E.S.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald L. Barnhart, on Nov. 17, 1997; and two brothers, Charles and Murray Thomas.

She is survived by her two sons, Donald T. ``Tom'' and his wife, Janet Barnhart, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Dale M. and his wife, Mimi Barnhart, of Wellington, Fla.; two grandsons, Daniel M. and Scott D. Barnhart of Wellington, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry, where services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David D. Wilson Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow in Coles Cemetery, Derry. O.E.S. Blairsville Chapter 166 will conduct a service Monday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
