Olive E. Barnhart, 75, Versailles, formerly of Iberia, died Friday at St. Marys Health Center. She was born September 17, 1921, near St. Anthony in Miller County, a daughter of William and Mina Barnhart Helton. She was married February 14, 1941, to Wilburn Rainey Barnhart, who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she worked as head cook at the Iberia Senior Citizens Center for seven years before retiring. She also was employed with Richline Boat Factory in Richland. She moved to Versailles in 1995. She was a member of the Iberia Church of the Nazarene and attended Calvary Baptist Church, Versailles.
Other survivors include: one son, Don Barnhart, Versailles; one brother, Clay Helton, Ventura, Calif.; three sisters, Lorene Barnhart, Cedar Hill, Reba Young, Gainesville, and Faye Keeth, Iberia; and one granddaughter. One son, David Dowe Barnhart, died in 1961.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rekus Funeral Home, Iberia. The Revs. John Bouldrey and Bill Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia.
