Services for Claudia Barnes Adams, 87, Port Neches, formerly of Walnut Grove community near Whitehouse, are scheduled for 10 am Tuesday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Bennie Portwood officiating.
Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral DIrectors, Tyler.
Mrs. Adams died Saturday night in a Groves nursing home after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 28, 1906, in Smith County. She attended school and resided most of her life in Smith County. She was a housewife and a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verdie Adams, in 1992.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Jessie May, Groves, and Mrs. Lelda Daniels, Port Arthur; four nephews, Wendell May, Richard May, Ray Daniels and Kenneth Barnes; and two nieces, Barbara Daniels and Dixie Casey.
Pallbears include Mike Casey, Wendell May, Richard May, Mark ross and Ken Davis.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
She was married to Verdie W. Adams and was the sister of Arbia (A.T.) Barnes.
