Dylan John Barnes, age 7, of Marshall, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. Dylan was born to Michael J. and Rachel M. (Slight) on December 20, 2001.

He attended Doris Klaussen Developmental Center in Battle Creek. He enjoyed Disneyland Videos and listening to soft music. He really enjoyed the out of doors and going for rides. He was greatly loved.

Survivors include: parents, Michael and Rachel Barnes of Marshall, 1 sister, Stephanie Barnes, also of Marshall, 1 brother Michael Wayne Barnes of Olivet, maternal grandparents, Cherryl & Tim Ruddock, of Marshall, Robert M. Slight of Florida and Orabel Slight of Texas, maternal great-grandparents, John & Shirley Cain of Marshall and paternal grandfather, Franklin R. Barnes of Battle Creek. Dylan was preceded in death by an infant brother, Uriah Toby Barnes.

A Graveside Service was held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Reverend Earl Martin, Pastor of Grace Free Will Baptist Church in Albion officiated. There was no visitation.

Memorials are suggested to Doris Klaussen Developmental Center in Battle Creek, Michigan where Dylan was a student.
