Mrs. Anna Barnes, 75, widow of Ben Barnes, died at 10:15 p.m. Monday at the St. Joseph hospital where she had been a patient since Saturday. She had been admitted to the hospital after suffering a stroke at the Huffman nursing home. Born in Cass county on March 18, 1879, she was the daughter of George K. and Elizabeth (Yost) Marshall. The deceased was a member of the Ninth Street Christian church, Order of Eastern Star and Ladies of the G. A. R. Her husband preceded in death on Feb 14, 1953.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Final rites will be conducted at the Chase-Miller chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Kenneth Brady officiating. Interment will be made in St. John's cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. The Eastern Star will conduct special services at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
