C. A. Barnes
ROYAL CENTER — Chauncey
A. Barnes, 75, retired Pennsylvania
railroad station agent and active
in community affairs, died after a
long illness at 7:45 o'clock Monday
at his Royal Center residence.
Born on October 18, 1881 in Lockport,
Ind., he was the son of William
and Clara Clark Barnes. His
marriage 'was to Golda Kiste.
The deceased was employed by
the railroad from April 1, 1902 to
January 24, 1945. A member of
the Baptist church and the Odd fellows
lodges, he was an active
member of the Royal Center Lions
club.
Surviving in addition to the wife,
are: a son, Harold, of Dayton,
Ohio; and a daughter, Barbara, of
Kankakee, 111.; two sisters, Mrs.
K. 0. Lybrook, and Mrs. Nancy
Britton, of Monticello.
The Rev. David St. Claire will
officiate at final rites at 1:30 p. m.
Thursday at the Harrison chapel.
Burial will be made in Davis cemetery.
Friends may view the body
after 7 p. m. Tuesday.
