George E. Barnes
(May 7, 1931 - February 16, 2011)

George E. Barnes, 79, of Ottawa passed away February 16, 2011 at Ottawa Regional Hospital.

Private services were held at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Entombment will in the Shrine of Rest at Oakwood Memorial Park at a later date. There will be no visitation.

He was born on May 7, 1931 to Frank and Hazel (Moore) Barnes in North English, Iowa. In 1957 he married Nancy Youngling of Marseilles who preceded him in death in 1998.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed by Caterpillar until his retirement. He was a 50 year member of the Ottawa Masonic Lodge. Survivors include two sons, Frank (Penny) of Ottawa and Tim of Alabaster, AL; five grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Lyle of Alabama, Phyllis Christian of Ottawa and Esther Hauppa of Ottawa and one brother Robert (Delores) of Chenoa, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister, Helen Brady and one brother, William Jack Barnes.
