Services for Mr. James Ellis Barnes, 49, of Mendenhall, were held Monday, June 26, 1989 at 2:00 p.m. from Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Ministers in charge were Rev. Glen Kelly and Rev. J. L. Walker. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Mendenhall. Mr. Barnes died Saturday, June 24, 1989, in Jackson. He was a machinist. Survivors include his wife, Hattie Herrington Barnes of Mendenhall; two sons, Thomas Franklin Barnes, Mt. Olive, Kames Marvin Barnes, Mendenhall; his mother, Louisa Smith, Mendenhall; two brothers, Melvin Barnes, Richland, J. B. Barnes, Ferriday, La.; two sisters, Mary Alice Hudson, Wesson, and Nannie Lou Grubbs, Braxton. Colonial Chapel of Mendenhall was in charge of arrangements.
