From "Memorirs of Waukesha Co., Wis " p.356 for Charles A Barndt indicates Abner and Leanna were born in Pennsylvana, "but married in Granville. (Abner) farmed until about 4 years prior to his death, when he retired and came to Menomonee Falls to spend his last days. He died in that village 1894".

DEATH OF ABNER BARNDT, A PIONEER OF MENOMONEE FALLS.
Waukesha, Wis., March 13 - Abner Barndt, one of the old settlers of the state, died at Menomonee Falls to-day. The cause of his death was apoplexy, and he was 68 years of age. Six sons and two daughters survive him.

OBITUARY: Information taken from the Waukesha Daily Freeman (Waukesha, Wisconsin) 15 Mar 1894 p5: Abner died at his residence in Granville at 7:30 am of apoplexy. He had been enjoying usually health; arising at six o'clock to build the fires, he was found by his wife a few minutes later unconscious on the kitchen floor. Mr. Barndt was one of the early settlers of Milwaukee county and was a man of sterling integrity, a true Christian and bore a manly character in his long life of usefulness. He was a member of the German Presbyterian church at West Granville and was 68 years of age. Six sons and two daughters survive him."
