Roodhouse- Mrs. William J. Barnard, 85, died at her home at 12:30 a.m., Sunday. She was born Sept. 10, 1863, in Fairfield, the daughter of William Kirk Linsey and Louisa Jane Caudell Lindsey. Besides her husband, Mrs. Barnard is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Frank Blair, of Carlinville; Mrs. Gladys Gresham, of Springfield; Mrs. William Chapman and Mrs. Sylvia McCauley, both of Jerseyville; Mrs. Pansy Duncan, of Chicago; Mrs. Dolla Hinman of Palmyra, and Miss Gertrude Barnard, at home; two sons, Kirk, of Jerseyville, and Russell, of Athensville;; a brother, Orlin Lindsey, of Yoman, Wash.; 39 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 18 foster grandchildren. The remains will be taken to the residence Tuesday from the Mackey funeral home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Athensville Baptist Church where she was a member, with Rev. Lonnie Moore officating. Burial will be made in Richwoods cemetery east of Roodhouse.
