OBITUARY :
MR. RONALD O. "MICK" BARLUP, 82, a resident of Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, PA and formerly of 120 North Franklin Street, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 in the nursing home.

Born August 22, 1932 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Barry R. and Ethel M. (Brechbiel) Barlup. He spent most of his life in the Waynesboro area.

Mr. Barlup attended Waynesboro schools and served in the United States Army from 1952-1954 where he was stationed in Alaska.

He was a lifelong truck driver, working for various local businesses including Good's Lumber in Quincy, PA, Guyer Oil, Grove Manufacturing, Whitney Trucking and R & R Trucking.

Mr. Barlup was a member of Clarence Armstrong VFW Post #6241, Mercersburg, PA.

He enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Mr. Barlup is survived by four children, Kathy S. Lynch and her husband, Ronald of Cearfoss, MD, Ronald P. Barlup and his wife, Susan of Waynesboro, Rodney E. Barlup of Waynesboro and Sharon R. Christman and her husband, Michael of Marion, PA; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, R. Yvonne Baker and Myrna L. Shatzer, both of Waynesboro; Phyllis Snyder of Maugansville, MD and G. Kay Ridgely of Port Richey, FL; one brother, Darrell B. Barlup of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, H. Lynn Barlup who passed away in 1964.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro with his son in law, Pastor Ronald Lynch officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening, in the funeral home.
