Gastonia - Ruby S. Barkley, 80, of Terrace Ridge Assisted Living, died Friday, March 23, 2007 at her residence.
She was a native of Gaston County, the daughter of the late Vance Stowe and Addie Armstrong Stowe.

Ruby was the last living charter member of Berea Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
She was an avid baker who years ago owned her own catering business and bakery in Belmont. She also worked as a hair stylist.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Parents, husband, John Mack Barkley, two brothers and four sisters.
