Services will be at 2 p.m. today in United Methodist Church in Gruver with the Rev. Steve Chappell officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Lera was born Dec. 31, 1930, in Hansford County to Monchie and Margie Barkley.
She married Roy Allen Beasley on March 31, 1951, in Clovis, N.M.
Lera grew up in Gruver and graduated from Gruver High School. She attended Wayland Baptist University on a basketball scholarship and played guard for the Wayland Baptist Flying Queens for three years. She worked for Cluck Cattle Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Roy Allen Beasley; a son, Mark Beasley; and her brothers, Hugh, Herman, Howard, Harry and Dayton.
Survivors include two sons, Tom and Jim Beasley, both of Gruver; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Estelle Chambers; and two brothers, Rod Barkley and wife Pat and Les Barkley and wife Sharon.
The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Manor, 707 S. Roland St., Spearman, TX 79081.
