Elizabeth Barker
Elizabeth May McConnell "Libby" Barker, 96, of Caldwell, passed away Friday, December 27, 1991, at a Caldwell nursing home. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m., Monday evening at the Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caldwell, by Fr. Leonard MacMillan. Interment will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
Mrs. Barker was born July 24, 1895, at St. Mary's, Kansas, to Robert and Ida Baltazor McConnell. The family came to Idaho by train in 1898 and settled in the Jordan Valley area where her father was a freighter from Jordan Valley to Silver City.
She attended school at Delamar and attended Link's School of Business in Boise. She married Fred Barker, November 1, 1920 in Boise. They moved to Hoquiam, Washington where she resided until Mr. Barker's death in 1969. Their only son, Robert Donald, passed away in 1964.
Mrs. Barker was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are two brothers, Robert and Elmer McConnell of Caldwell; three nieces, Bernice Fragapane, Ronda McConnell and Sophie Strode Scott of Caldwell, and a nephew, Ron McConnell of Caldwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harold and Alfred; three sisters, Ella McConnell, Leanora Lawrence and Mary Strode; a niece, Elaine Lloyd and a nephew, Tom Strode.
