Jimmie Fred Barker, Sr., 75, of Dallas, was a son to the late James and May Barker.
Jimmie was a proud veteran who served two tours of duty in Vietnam and spent five years at the Pentagon. He retired from the City of Gastonia Police Department as Detective. Jimmie was an honorable man who served his family, his community and, most of all, his God. He was a faithful member of the Independent Baptist Tabernacle and a former member of Springfield Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. In addition to his family, he loved his garden and working outdoors.
