Ferle Pauline Parsons Barker, age 93, of Aurora, passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was born on November 22, 1917 in Turley, Missouri, the daughter of Samuel and Anna (Turner) Walker. Ferle was a 1935 graduate of Aurora High School and a member of the Aurora Fundamental Methodist Church. She worked for the Juvenile Shoe Company and retired from the Aurora School District where she worked as the head cook. On August 22, 1946 Ferle married Albert Parsons in aurora. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1961. She later met and married Edward Barker on June 5, 1976 in Springfield and he preceded her in death on March 8, 1998.

Those surviving her include: one daughter, Joanne Michel and her husband, Bill, of Aurora; three sons, Samuel Parsons and his wife, Laura, of Springfield, James Parsons and his wife, Linda, of Aurora, William Parsons and his wife, Nancy, of Skiatook, Oklahoma; one stepdaughter, Betty Neely and her husband, Sid, of Springfield, one stepson, Raymond Gibson of Kansas City; two nieces, Margaret Seburn and Judy Price of Aurora; two nephews, John Marks, of Aurora, and Larry Walker of Verona; ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Her parents, three sisters, Edith Seburn, Hazel Walker, Evelyn Marks and two brothers, Howard and Ernest Walker also preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home with burial at the Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, at the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Aurora Fundamental Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
