BARGINEAR James David "JD" Barginear, a native and lifelong resident of Bayou La Batre passed from this life on Wednesday, July 14, 2010. He was 77 years old. J D served honorably in the United States Air Force achieving the rank of Staff Sargeant. He served on the Mobile and Bayou La Batre police forces and finally retired from long haul trucking. He was a member of Community of Christ Church in Bayou La Batre. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Mary Bosarge Barginear and his sisters, Hattie Louise Simmons and Bertha Inez Barginear. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Deakle Barginear; his siblings, Leo Sanford (Deborah) Barginear and Clara Barginear Gilmore; three daughters, Julia (Rick) Bierley, JoAnne (Gerald) Wilson and Jenny Gilmore; step children, Dale (Denise) Horton,Cindy (Billy) Auld, Mitch(Ashley) Horton, Michael (Sherronda) Horton and Bret (Sherry) Horton; 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be Friday, July 16, 2010 at Serenity Funeral Home from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 10 am from Community of Christ in Bayou La Batre. Interment will be in Oddfellow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials me made to Community of Christ-Continuing Ministry Fund.
