Cheryl B. Amos, 65, of Danville, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at the Hospice of Rockingham County facility after several months of declining health.
Born in Waynesboro, Virginia on November 25, 1944, Cheryl graduated from Carson-Newman College and was married to Kenneth E. Amos on March 5, 1971. Up to the time of her illness, Cheryl was employed by Hobby Lobby in Danville.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, David Amos and wife his Stephanie, and Daniel Amos and his wife, Wendy, both of Wise, Virginia; grandchildren, Savannah, Owen, and Eliza; a brother, Dale Barger and his wife, Mary Jo, of Roanoke, Virginia.
She was predeceased by her parents, Merlyn Eugene Barger and Ruby Evelyn Bailey Rosen; her sister, Sandy Fisher, and her brother, John E. Barger.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at West End Christian Church in Danville, Virginia.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill and Hospice of Rockingham County for their loving care.
