Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Troudt are to be held at two o'clock tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at Salem Lutheran Church. She died very suddenly in the kitchen of her home here about 7:30 Wednesday morning. She had been cared for by her sister, Mrs. Hobart Lewellen of Colorado, since returning to her home following hospitalization for treatment of a heart ailment.

Mary Ernstine Troudt, nee Barfknecht, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Barfknecht, passed away at her home in Nelson on Oct. 26, 1960 at the age of 72 years, 4 mos. and 12 days. She was born June 14, 1888 in Gage County near Firth. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on July 29, 1888.
While still a child, she moved with her parents to near Lawrence. She was confirmed April 8, 1900 in the Evangelical Lutheran church (sic) in Nelson.
On May 24, 1907 she was united in marriage to Adam Troudt. They first made their home near Nora and later settled near Lawrence. They made their home there until Febr. 1946 when, because of Mr. Troudt's failing health, they moved to Nelson. In May 1947 her husband preceded her in death.
Mrs. Troudt was a devoted wife and mother. Her greatest enjoyment was helping others. She was always ready and willing to put others before self.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter: William of Glenvil, Leone (Mrs. Henry Meents) of Guide Rock, and Orville of Deweese; four grandchildren, William Troudt, jr., Richard Troudt, Eugene Meents and Steven Troudt; also a great granddaughter, Mary Beth. One granddaughter and one brother, August, preceded her in death. Surviving are three sisters and three brothers, Lena (Mrs. Will Bangert) of Lawrence, Anna (Mrs. Hobert Luellen) of Yuma, Colo., Tilda (Mrs. Wm. Hohl of Nelson), Charles of Akron, Colo., Fred of Denver, Colo., and William of Superior. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Salem Lutheran church (sic) on Friday at 2 o'clock. Burial was in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
