Carmen L. Bardo, 88, of 1207 Almond St., Williamsport, died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital.
Born Sept. 4, 1920, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Fred and Laura Weirick Rose. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. "Jack" Bardo, who died in 1984, and by a loving sister, Ardene Sauers, in February 2009.
She had worked at Williamsport Paper Box Co. and Carey McFalls. Carmen was a member of Church of the Savior, Lutheran.
Carmen loved her family, her friends and her cats. She enjoyed doing puzzles and talking with her family and friends, especially while rocking on the porch at the Almond Street Commons.
Surviving are two nieces, Terry Wright of Williamsport and Barbara McKinzie of St. George, Utah, two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., with the Rev. Ronald E. Shellhamer officiating. Burial will be held in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sanders.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Savior, Lutheran, 522 Grier St. Williamsport, or The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital, 1100 Grampian Blvd. Williamsport, PA 17701.
