Jean Rose Barclay, of Silsbee, passed away at Pine Arbor Health Care Center.

The first child of D. O. (Ollis) and Lettie Sewell Rose, Jean graduated from high school and married W. H. Flowers.

During World War II, she helped her father, a carpenter, while her brothers were overseas. She lived around the country, following her husband and his pipeline work. Jean also worked at EasTex Pulp & Paper in Evadale and Warrick Appliances in Silsbee. She later married George D. Barclay, Jr.

A beautician, Jean had operated Artistic Beauty Salon until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling in the United States, and to various countries, including Israel, Switzerland, Austria, Mexico and Canada. She was active in the community and organizations such as the Pilot Club, Silsbee Little Theater, Team City and "Christmas in the Big Thicket".

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, W. O. "Pinkie" Rose and Norman Rose.

Survivors include three sons, Jack Flowers, Howell Barclay and Marc Barclay; daughters-in-law Donna Flowers and Paula Barclay; one brother, W. L. "Blackie" Rose and wife Norma, and one sister, Beverly Tobias and husband Billy; seven grandchildren, Chris Flowers, Brandon Barclay and Hillary Barclay, Tammy Flowers Grasmick, Brooke Barclay, Heather Barclay and Jarod Eli Barclay; three great-granddaughters, Tonya Flowers, Payton Rose Grasmick and Dominica Bruni and many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends.
