Virgil Lee Barclay, 65, died Sunday at his home.
Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Lacock Funeral Home, Wilton. The Rev. Joseph Mayer will officiate. Visitation is Tuesday from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home where a memoiral has been established. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery.
Mr. Barclay was born Aug. 16, 1920 near Wilton, a son of Clarence Lloyd and Anna Kelley Barclay. On July 16, 1942 he married Margaret Slach at WIlton. He was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Wilton Chamber of Commerce. Upon retirement from farming the couple from 1961-1974 operated the V&M Royal Blue Grocery in Bennett and later the Hidden Treasures Antique Shop and the Barclay Bait & Tackle Shop.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Wayne Barclay, Atalissa; James Barclay, Leesburg, Ga.; and Thomas Barclay, Wilton; five grandchildren; and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
