James "Jim" R. Barbre, passed away at his home in the company with his wife, Diane of 43 years, on Sept. 3, 2005. After battling and surviving cancer, he was faced with many physical challenges during this past year, spending much of his time with his family.
Jim was born in Granite City, IL, on December 8, 1940. He lived in the Parkland area and attended Franklin Pierce High school where he played football. He then served in the U.S. Navy. Jim worked the plywood mills and was a welder for Tacoma Boat for many years. For the last 20 years, he dedicated his time to industrial catering, better known as "The Roach Coach" in the Puyallup area. In his free time, he supported his children and grandchildren by attending their games and events, scuba diving, fishing, jet skiing, and camping.
He is survived by his mother, Lilly Rosellini; mother-in-law, Fern Anderson; his daughter Carmen Jensen and husband, Doug; his son, Trent Barbre and wife, Terri; his grandchildren, Austin, Lane, Jordin, and Chase.
Services held at the New Tacoma Cemetery Chambers Creek Chapel.
