Vera Barboni died peacefully on December 30, 2014 at her home, the Windham Assisted Living Facility in Fresno CA. Vera, a registered nurse, wife and mother, was born January 15, 1918 in North Haven Connecticut. The daughter of Gabriel & Louise DeMartino Nutile, the youngest of 12 children, Vera was anticipating her 97th birthday in just 2 weeks. Vera earned her Nursing Degree from St. Raphael Hospital School of Nursing in 1938. After 62 years as a Registered Nurse, she retired at age 82. After raising three children in North Haven, Vera and her husband Alex moved to Florida. Upon Alex’s passing in 2004, Vera moved to California to be near her daughter and grandchildren. A unique woman, Vera so special in so many ways, inspired those who knew her with a loving caring heart, quick wit, boundless energy, contagious sense of humor and a generous optimism. She will be truly missed. Vera was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Alex Barboni and by her son, David Barboni. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Morse of Tucson Arizona and son Alex Barboni, of Edgecombe Maine. In addition, Vera leaves behind 7 Grandchildren; Sheryl Morse of Fresno CA, Stephen Morse of Oxnard CA, Jessica McGee of Danville CA, Robert Barboni of Palm Beach Gardens FL, Daniel Barboni of Miami Florida, Tracy Mirra of Summerville South Carolina and Sharon Thomas of Punta Gorda FL. She also leaves 10 Great Grandchildren, one Great Great Grandchild and numerous loving relatives and friends.
