Dean finished the tenth grade, enlisted in the U.S. Army, then took a hardship leave to help at home.
In 1952 he married Mona Lee Anderson in Rapid City. To this union three sons were born. They were divorced in 1965.
Dean wasn't one to let grass grow under his feet and lived in many towns and working in the auto body profession. He traveled to Long Beach, California where he met Beverly Brennan Hobbs and they were married ine Sheridan, Wyoming in 1967. Bev brought four children into this union and in 1969 they had a son together.
The winter of 1977 brought the family to Star Valley, Wyoming where they live out their days. Dean lost is beloved Beverly (Fred)in June of 2007.
Dean was survived by eight children, thirty grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
