- ROCK HILL - Allene Anderson Barber (Mutt)was the daughter of the late Louie S. Anderson Sr. and Maggie Hemphill Anderson. She was born in York County on Aug. 30, 1930. "Mutt" quietly entered into eternal rest on Monday, Aug. 30, her 80th birthday, at Piedmont Medical Center.
- The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at New Mt. Olivet AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Dr. Michael E. Smith Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary AME Zion Church cemetery.
- She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel "Na" Barber. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Calvary AME Zion Church.
- Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia A. Barber and Rene Barber Demery (Joe), both of Rock Hill; two sons, Nate Barber of Columbia, S.C., and Patrick A. Barber (Tina) of Irmo, S.C.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Rosa Mae Jones and Louise Pittman, both of Rock Hill; one brother, Louie S. Anderson Jr. of Baltimore, Md.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
- Mrs. Barber may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until time of the service Thursday at the church. The family will receive friends at the home.
- The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mt. Calvary AME Zion Church Building Fund, PO Box 485, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
