Albertus Barber, 63 year old Butler farmer, was killed instantly about 3 oclock Tuesday afternoon when the sedan he was driving on RT 48 near the Hopper-Sangamon paper mill north of the city, turned over several times, hurling Barber from the car.

Barber owned a farm west of Pana until a few months ago when he is reported to have sold it and moved to the farm near Butler.

He was born Nov. 12, 1877 in Russell,Kans. For the past several years he has farmed in Christian and Montgomery counties and prior to that lived in Piatt county.

He was married May 27 1930 to Miss Thelma Neal of Atwood. He leaves his wife one son, Albertis Jr. 9 of Butler and a daughter Mrs.Sara Hendrix of Milmine, Ill by a previous marriage. He also leaves two sisters Mrs.C.Scott Sutphen of Bement and Mrs.Ray Richardson of Decatur, Mrs. Paul Davis of 415 E. Division street is a half sister. He also leaves his step mother Mrs. Ida Barber of Decatur.

The body is at the Masterson funeral home in Taylorville where it will remain until Wednesday morning when it will be moved to the Dobson funeral home in Cerro Gordo. Burial will be in the Cerro Gordo cemetery.
