DONALD EDWARDS BARBER, 68, of Memphis, retired teacher and adjunct professor at Shelby State Community College, died of pulmonary emphysema Monday at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Actors Equity, was active in the Community Theater of Memphis and Rhodes College, and was a graduate of Yale. Mr. Barber, the husband of Beverly Barber, also leaves two daughters, Penelope Hyatt Barber of Clinton, Ill., and Beverly Anne Phillips of Birmingham; a son, Donald Christopher Barber of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Carman Ashabranner of Dallas; a brother, Roy Barber of Memphis, and three grandchildren.
