Lettie H. Barber, 84, died May 23, 1998 at the Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems. Born February 24, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Elizabeth and James Ransom Hicks.
She spent most of her childhood and young adult life in Bragg City, Missouri before moving to Memphis in 1939.
She was a loyal and longtime devoted member of Highland Heights Presbyterian Church where she was active in her Sunday School Class and Presbyterian Women's Organization.
She and her husband were retired employees of True Tagg Paint Company after many of years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 6, 1985.
Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Mable and Rex Carpenter of Corsicana, Tx.; one grandson and grand-daughter-in-law, Katherine and Chuck Carpenter of Denton, Tx.; and one great grand-daughter, Laura Carpenter of Denton, Tx.; two sisters, Grace Bunch of Manila, Ark. and Pauline Curtis of Cordova, Tn. and a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside services were held May 25, 1998 at 12:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetry in Memphis, Tn. with Rev. James Quillin officiating.
