Park Ridge - Mrs. Tecla L. Barber (nee Adamski) of Park Ridge, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 6, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years old. Beloved wife of Walter John Charles Barber for 71 loving years. Devoted mother of Mrs. Susan Walbrecht and husband Donald, Mrs.Karen Lorimer and husband Jeff. Dear sister of Mary Capstaff and sister in law Brenda. Cherished grandmother of Shawn and Kerri, Jessica and Jeff, Eric and Ashley, Tara and Soren Walbrecht, Nicole and Chip Notare. Great-grandmother of Dakota Walbrecht.
Predeceased by her Parents, her sister Eleanor and her brothers Joseph, Raymond and Louis Adamski and her brother-in-law James Capstaff, Thomas Kiely and sister-in-law Mary Adamski.
Before retiring Tecla was a cook and baker for Borough Park Ridge New Jersey High School for 28 years. She also worked for 6 years at Our Lady of Mercy School. She was a Girl Scout leader of Troop #171 for 10 years while her daughters attended OLM. She was a member of the Pascack Valley Contemporary Woman's Club where she served as Treasurer and the head of the Arts & Crafts Dept. Funeral Mass 10 AM on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Our Lady of Mercy R. C. Church, Park Ridge, NJ. Interment in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. Visitation 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Monday, September 10, 2018.
