BELLEVILLE - Wilbur H. "JR" Barber, 84, a resident of Valley View Haven, Belleville, formerly of 420 Valley St., Lewistown, died at 5:35 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, at Valley View Haven. Born May 24, 1918, in Lewistown, he was a son, of the late Wilbur R. and Vera M. (Haupt) Barber. His wife, Marjorie M. (Campbell) Barber, preceded him in death April 7, 1994. Surviving are: a son, Gerald E. Barber, Manheim; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Donna) Crownover, 86 Poe St., Belleville; two brothers, Robert L. Barber and Richard R. Barber, both of Lewistown; a sister, Mrs. Franklin (Betty) Moore, Lewistown; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lou Ann Barber in 1953 and two brothers. He retired from Stoicheff Auto Parts in 1979, early in life he and his brothers worked for their father at Barber's City Service Garage and Gas Station, Stratford's Hill, Lewistown. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. Sam Strohm officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: Valley View Haven, 4702 E.
