STANFIELD -- Mrs. Barbee, 73, of 236 Polk Ford Road, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Stanly Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service is 2:00 PM Monday, May 23, at Loves Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Anthony Moore officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will meet at the home, and will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, May 22, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland.

Mrs. Barbee was born in Stanly County, NC on April 11, 1932, a daughter of the late John Henry Love and Stella Jane Helms Love. She was a floral designer with Wayside Florist in Locust, and a member of Loves Chapel United Methodist Church, Stanfield.

Survivors include her husband, Flake Barbee of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Vickie Barbee of Locust, and Donnie and Crystal Barbee of Stanfield; daughter, Kay Barbee Barbee of Locust; brothers, Buford Love of Stanfield, Melvin Love of Locust, and Archie Love of Stanfield; sister, Janie Kluttz of Stanfield; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barbee was preceded in death by her brother, Hubert Ray Love.
