Andrew Joseph 'Andy' Barbe

Professional Hockey Player. A native of Coniston, Ontario, Barbe played the position of Right Wing. At 6'00, and 176lbs, Barbe played for the Falconbridge Falcons from 1941 to 1942 (NOJHA), Sudbury Pit Open Miners from 1944 to 1945 (NOHA), Oakland Oaks from 1945 to 1946 (PCHL), Los Angeles Monarchs from 1946 to 1949 (PCHL), Pittsburgh Hornets from 1949 to 1955 (AHL), and the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1950 to 1951 (NHL). A member of the 1949 PCHL Southern First All-Star Team, Barbe retired from playing hockey in 1955. A veteran of World War II, he had served from 1942 to 1944. Barbe passed away in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on January 17, 2004, at the age of 80.
