Josie was born in El Paso, Texas. Sweet Josephine lived 87 wonderful years. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend.
She was born to Joe and Marie Banuelos, and she was the second of six children. Her family settled in California when she was an infant.
Josie was kind, giving, and supportive to her family. Her life was dedicated to caring for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for her family.
Josie married Alfonso "Al" and they had six children. She devoted her entire life to caring for her family. Josie was an amzing cook and took great pleasure in serving customers at her restaurant, El Nuevo Triunfo. She owned and operated the restaurant for over 20 years.
Josephine spent the last nine years being cared for by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Larry and Jeri Evans.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Al; sons, Armando and Charles Alvarez; and daughter, Rosemary Alvarez.
Josephine is survived by her three children, Geraldine "Jeri" Evans, Annette "Pebbles" Terry, and Alfonso Alvarez, Jr., many grandchildren and great grand children, as well as other close relatives.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Cherished Memories, on Monday, Octoer 17, 2011, at 7:00 p.m.
A Graveside Service will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery, on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.
