Survivors include: his wife, Wanda Long Banta, Pleasureville; one daughter, Kim Banta Batts, Pleasureville; two brothers, Marvin Banta, Pleasureville and Lloyd Thomas Banta, Shelbyville; two sisters, Ruth Ellegood and Anna Mary Eldridge, both of Pleasureville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Lawrence Banta and Ray Banta, and a son-in-law, Gene Batts.
Funeral services were held at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville, with Rev. Jerry Anderson and Rev. Don Waterfill officiating. Pallbearers were Jerry Beasley, Robert Culton, Darrell McAlister, Allen Thomas Rucker, Paul Sallee Jr. and Rodney Young. Honorary bearers were the Henry County High School football team.
Burial was in the Pleasureville Cemetery.
