Additionally, his occupation was listed as a farmer, his residence was Dry Point, Shelby County, Illinois and his nativity was Fayette County, Illinois.

On February 18, 1865 he mustered in at Camp Butler, Springfield, Illinois. The remarks on the enlistment documents state "Absent sick at Camp Butler Ill since Mar 17, 1865 no discharge given."
