Andrew Morris Banks, the son of Roy and Nancy (Morris) Banks, was born February 5, 1934 in Wellington, Kansas.
The family lived in Wellington until 1944 when they moved to Harper. Morris graduated from the Harper High School in 1952. He attended Southwestern University at Winfield for a year and a half.
Shortly after that, he bagan working at the Security State Bank in Wellington until retiring in 1998.
Morris was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wellington as well as holding memberships with the Masonic Lodge #201 A.F.&A.M. of Harper, and the Midian Shrine in Wichita.
He loved traveling and the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He took his nephews and as well as his great nephews hunting and traveling with him and they were all very close.
On Wednesday morning, August 23, 2000, M orris passed away from injuries received in a one-car accident west of Wellington. He was 66 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy & Nancy Banks and two brothes: an infant brother and Everett LeRoy Banks.
He is survived by his sister: Ella Louise Jacobs and her husband, Eugene of Harper Ten nieces and nephews; twenty-three great nieces and nephews; twelve great great nieces,nephews; and a host of friends.
