Kathryn Ammons was born December 14, 1953 in Lexington, MS. She passed away February 24, 2009.
She was employed at AT&T for 36 years as an operator until her health began to fail. She attended Joliet Junior College and received an Associates Degree in Psychology and later received a Master's Degree in Accounting.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, William E. (Bill) Ammons; one son, Frank (Adine) Baggett; three grandchildren, Shana, Frank, Jr. and Christopher Baggett; stepchildren, Christine (Freddie) Covington, Cairo, IL, Eric Pruitt, Chicago, IL, William "Little Bill" Ammons, Jr; 11 step-grandchildren, Mo'Naisha Matthew, Ariana and Gina, all of Joliet, IL, Freddie Ammons Jr, Norika Ammons, Kwamane Ammons, Erica Ammons, Javon Williamson, Alyssa Ammons, Sheniqua Ammons, William Ammons; her mother, Daisy Banks, Hazlehurst, MS; parents, Daniel and Bertha Goodwin, Kankakee, IL; in-laws, Barbara Cartwright, Joliet, IL, Dorothy (Clarence) Moore, Lithian Springs, GA, Geraldine Clark, Joliet, IL, Ann (Orlando) Knight, Joliet, IL, Marilyn Ammons, Chicago, IL, Ronnie Hamilton, Joliet, IL; three brothers, Darnell Banks, Los Angeles, CA, Billy (Annette) Banks, Hazlehurst, MS, and Ricky (Annie) Banks, Tacoma, WA; two sisters, Sharon (Mitchell) Coley and Adriana Banks, Hazlehurst, MS; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation Monday, March 2, 2009 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon, at All Nations C.O.G.I.C., 503 Water Street, Joliet, IL. Service at 12 noon, Bishop Robert R. Sanders, officiating. Interment following at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
