Kinder-Funeral service for Allie Dolores Bankester, 84, will be held at Reeves Bible Church on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 10 A.M. Rev. Sherman Soileau will officiate. Burial will follow in LeBlanc Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder. The family will receive visitors at Reeves Bible Church on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 5-9 P.M and will continue on Friday morning from 8 A.M. until time of service.

Dolores was a resident of Reeves and lifelong member of Reeves Bible Church. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was retired from Allen Parish Hospital having worked there since its inception. She enjoyed music and taking care of her family. She was a marvelous mother of ten children which included three sets of twins. Dolores will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Walter (Sam) Bankester; four sons, Rev. Travis Bankester and wife, Nancy, Harry Bankester and wife, Linda, James Bankester and wife, Brenda, and Mark Bankester and wife, Stephanie; two daughters, Rita Byerly and husband, Eddie, and Angela Barrett and husband, Don; five brothers, Jimmy Savoie and wife, Ada, Jack Savoie, Jerry Savoie and wife, Sue, Joe Savoie and wife, Patricia, and James (Buddy) Sweat and wife, Glenda; two sisters, Judy and Kathy Savoie; one daughter-in-law, Janiel Bankester; 26 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, Ira Eli Savoie and Ida Mae Sweat; two sons-Wayne Davis and Terry Lynn; two daughters-Janis Ruth and Iris Mae; one grandson, Jared Bankester; one great granddaughter, Kristina Rae Barrett.
