She was the daughter of Cushing & Rachel (Higgins) Horton.Married first to Elijah E.K. Cobb Dec 25,1851, he died Dec 29,1853, was lost overboard off Race Point, Provincetown,MA. They were the parents of Albert "Abbott" F. She married 2nd John H. Bangs ca 1858.They were the parents of John S. She was the sister of Abraham,Almira,Henry,Rachel,Cushing,Mary,Nathan & Eliza.By 1880 they were living in Lake,Cook Co,Ill. John Bangs was employed by Swift & Co (meat packing company) a newly emerging company owned by Gustavus Swift of Sandwich,Ma. Ca 1887 Swift opened a plant in S.Omaha, Neb and John Bangs was employed there. After her husband's death in 1897, Laura lived with her son John and family in St.Paul, Minn.
