SIMON BEHNEY DIED IN INDIANA
FORMER RESIDENT OF LEBANON, AGED 64 YEARS
Brother of Clothier Isaac Behney and Was Engaged In the Horse Business.
Word reached here today of the death, at Lafayette, Indiana, of Simon Behney, a former resident of this city. Mr. Behney was formerly employed by his uncle, Jacob Behney, a widely known horse dealer, and later he went west, where he was employed ever since by Crouch and Woodcock, a celebrated horse trading firm, as their shipping agent. The deceased was 64 years of age. His wife, who was Miss Sarah Kintzel, of Myerstown, still survives. She is the sister of Mrs. Cornelius Moyer, of Myerstown.
There was but one child, the late Mrs. Ira Bensing, whose daughter, Elsie, now resides at Berlin, N. J. Henry Behney, of this city, is the father of the deceased, and the following are brothers:Isaac S. Behney, the Cumberland street clothier; Frank, also of Lebanon; Jerome, of Myerstown; and Reuben, of Reading.

Born 7/19/1850 (even though gravestone says 1848). He was known in Indiana as Baney, but most Pennsylvania family members known as Behney. Contributed.
