Norma Jean (Thomas) Balzer
Age 88, of Canton, passed away Aug. 15, 2014. She was born Feb. 20, 1926 in Canton, Ohio but then the family moved to a farm two years later near Baltic, Ohio. She graduated from Baltic High School in 1944 and then she came to Canton and was employed by Hercules Motors. In 1966 she changed jobs and went to Union Metal and worked until she retired in 1984. She then became employed by the city of Canton as a school crossing guard at Gibbs and 12th Street, crossing the kids, which she loved so much, and retired in 2006. She was a member of Crystal Park United Methodist Church and a member of the choir.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Hazel Thomas; husband of 57 years, Richard; brothers, James and Robert Thomas; and sister, Martha Winkelman.
Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery.
