The body of Jay M. Ballou, who was killed yesterday by the explosion of an ammonia tank in the plant of the Interstate Milk and Cream Company at Newark, NJ. will be taken tonight for interment to Cortland, NY. where members of his family are spending the summer. The family home is at 1030 Birch street, Richmond Hill. He was manager for the Thatcher Manufacturing Company of Elmira. Born in Cortland, fifty years ago, he had resided in Richmond Hill for five years. He is survived by his widow Julia; two daughters, Hildreth and Mrs. C. W. Lake, and one son, Homer.
