She was born in Van Buren, the daughter of the late Carrol and Elsie (Clark) Dillman. She was a 1935 graduate of Jefferson High School. Mrs. Ballinger was former co-owner with her husband, Bob, of the Upland Hardware Store from 1933 to 1983, and from 1970 to 1975 was bookkeeper and office manager at Walnut Creek Golf Course. She enjoyed playing golf and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She had spent most of her life in Upland. She was a member of Upland United Methodist Church, past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star 411, and past president of the Upland American Legion Post Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Gregg (Debbie) and Randy (Sarah), both of Upland; five grandchildren, Lora (Eric), Quinn (Erika), Elizabeth, Mindy and Brian; and four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Elijah, Benjamin and Isaac.
