Mrs. Anna C. Smith
In ill health and bedfast for 19 months, Mrs. Anna C. Smith, 87, widow of Amandus Smith, formerly of Turbotville, died yesterday at 12:30 p.m. at the home of her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Strine, 550 Cleveland Avenue.
Mrs. Smith was born in Delaware Township, Northumberland County, September 19, 1865, daughter of the late George W. and Sarah Ann Balliet. She resided in Turbotville for many years. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church at that place.
Surviving are her daughter, one sister, Mrs. Hattie Ritter, Milton; two brothers, John Balliet, Watsontown; and W.O. Balliet, Watsontown; also three grandchildren.
Services will be held Sunday at 2:30 pm at the Paul S. Grittner Funeral Home, Turbotville. Officiating will be the Rev. Charles F. Grass, pastor of Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church, Turbotville. Interment will be in Turbotville Cemetery.

Buried in the plot of Levi J. Menges and Lizzie R. Menges, who had no children. Anna Catharine Balliet was a servant for Levi and Lizzie Menges for many years after the death of her husband, Jacob A. Smith.
